Figaro taps Ernst & Young

Ernst & Young Technical Advisory Services Inc. (TASI) was appointed by coffee shop chain Figaro Transaction Co. Inc. recently as its financial advisor for the company’s business program, Coffee.Services, to be provided by TASI. It also includes corporate finance and funds advisory.

"The mandate is a vote of confidence for E&Y TASI to bring to market an enterprise with not only a local growth story to tell but also a regional expansion business plan to pursue," Ernst and Young TASI president and chief executive officer Joel Valdes said.

"To date, more and more companies are focusing on the meticulous preparations involved in an IPO to ensure a successful listing. Ernst and Young is uniquely positioned to assist clients realize this by way of providing an integrated set of financial services," Valdes added.

Meanwhile, auditors from professional services firm SGV & Co. passed the internationally accredited Certified Internal Auditors (CIA) exams. They were among 116 Filipinos who passed the exams, the largest turnout of new CIAs from the Philippines.

The CIA designation reflects competence in the principles and practices of internal auditing.

It is the only internationally-accepted designation for internal auditors. There are now 17 CIAs in SGV & Co.
