Cebu Mitsumi recognized as best employer by SSS

Cebu Mitsumi Corp., one of the countrys leading electronic components manufacturing company, won this years Balikat ng Bayan Award (the outstanding employer) of the Social Security System (SSS).
SSS president and chief executive officer Corazon de la Paz said Cebu Mitsumi bested three other contenders a bank and two giant companies to win the annual award as a model SSS employer.
"Companies like Mitsumi boost productivity and help enhance SSS programs in the countryside," De la Paz said.
A plaque designed by famous sculptor, Dr. Antonino Raymundo, was presented to the Cebu-based Mitsumi Corp during ceremonies marking the 46th anniversary celebrations of the SSS in its corporate headquarters in Quezon City on Sept. 1.
Cebu Mitsumi also bagged the award for outstanding employer for Visayas. Metrobank, Yazaki-Torres of Laguna, and Del Monte Philippines of Bukidnon won the outstanding employer for National Capital Region, Luzon and Mindanao, respectively.
De la Paz said Mitsumi Corp. won in all aspects of the award criteria such as full SSS coverage compliance, regular payment of contributions, up-to-date loan repayments and no complaints from employees.
Mitsumi Corp. is the largest electronic components manufacturing company in the Philippines. The company, which employs 17,000 skilled workers, manufactures computer peripherals and electronic components.
