Deutsche Bank names RP head

Deutsche Bank has appointed Michael Hellbeck as chief country officer of the Philippines. He will also assume the role of head of relationship management, Global Corporate Finance (GCF). His appointment took July 9, 2001.

Hellbeck will report directly to Martin Loat and Robert Stein, chief executive officers of Deutsche Bank’s Corporate and Investment Banking (CIB) and private clients & asset management (PCAM) divisions of Deutsche Bank respectively. As head of relationship management, he will report to Alan Goodyear, regional head of relationship management.

Hellbeck replaces Jose Isidro Camacho, who left in March 2001 to become the energy Secretary. In May, Camacho was appointed as Secretary of Finance.

Hellbeck was previously head of the bank’s global banking division (GBD) in Korea. He also held the role of acting chief country officer for Korea prior to the appointment of Julian Kim as chief country officer.

In the Asia Pacific, Deutsche Bank employs more than 7,200 staff with offices in 15 countries. Through its branch in Manila, Deutsche Bank offers its clients a range of corporate, investment and private banking products and services.
