‘Beautician’ yields drugs worth P7M

CEBU, Philippines — Over P7.1 million worth of drugs was seized from a 31-year-old freelance beautician in Purok Sunflower, Brgy. San Roque, Talisay City, Cebu, in the early hours of Nov. 24, 2024.

Urbanito Dizon Degamo Daan was arrested in a joint buy-bust operation conducted by personnel from the Provincial Intelligence Unit/Drug Enforcement Unit of the Cebu Provincial Police Office (CPPO), the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-7 (PDEA-7), and the Talisay City Police Station.

Authorities seized 1,050 grams of suspected shabu with an estimated value of P7.1 million from Daan, who is considered a High-Value Individual (HVI).

Other items confiscated from the suspect included 13 heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets of varying sizes containing white crystalline substance believed to be shabu, a genuine P1,000 bill placed on top of 49 pieces of counterfeit money, and one refined Chinese tea bag used to contain the illegal drugs.

The suspect was brought to the Talisay City Police Station Custodial Facility for proper disposition, where he is currently detained pending the filing of appropriate charges. The seized evidence was transported to the Regional Forensic Unit-7 for examination. — (FREEMAN)
