Cargill launches digital nutrition solutions software for farmers
MANILA, Philippines — Cargill Philippines has rolled out a digital nutrition solutions portfolio that aims to help animal feed producers and livestock farmers improve animal performance and increase farm productivity.
The solutions portfolio, under its Provimi brand, will utilize digital tools to help feed mill and animal producers deliver ideal nutrition at the right cost, by providing them with precise nutritional data to help them meet their production goals and grow their businesses.
One specific product under Cargill’s digital nutrition solution’s portfolio is the Techbro Flex, a dynamic predictive software for broilers.
“Using your data and production constraints, TechBro Flex presents multiple scenarios. It shows the effect of changing variables on your cost of live bird and calculates related margin impact. Then you choose and implement the right feeding and management strategy for your business,” Cargill said.
By analyzing the impact of all key components, the software helps farmers optimize the entire system, and can be further optimized as conditions change.
“Cargill is pleased to be the pioneer in advancing digitalization in the animal nutrition industry,” said Cargill Provimi general manager Jun Romo.
“Our digital solutions portfolio will enable our customers to make smarter decisions based on science and predictive tools to become more successful,” he added.
Maxime Hilbert, Cargill Provimi regional strategic marketing and technology director in Southeast Asia, said the new products would help farmers make better operation decisions, which will eventually help cut down production cost and improve their productivity.
The company has leveraged its extensive knowledge of feed ingredients and nutrients, proven expertise in animal nutrition research and testing, its long experience agricultural supply chains, and its collaboration with global digital firms to develop the digital solutions portfolio.
Hilbert stressed the need for the agriculture sector to adapt to new technology.
“In animal nutrition, forward-thinking companies are taking luck out of the equation by utilizing predictive modelling tools and science-based analysis to ensure more consistent feed quality, more predictable animal performance, and higher margins. And with the emergence of digital transformation, new technologies are now quickly and irreversibly changing the business landscape,” Hilbert said.
Through the digital solutions portfolio, Cargill aims to highlight the importance of meeting the dietary needs of animals precisely and sustainably in creating a healthy and sustainable food supply chain.
