MANILA, Philippines - THE OCEAN’S BOUNTY: Street dancers dressed as fish mascots parade in Mercedes town in Camarines Norte to mark the 17th Kadagatan Fish-tival and the 66th Municipal Founding Day. Situated in Bicol’s Pacific seaboard, Mercedes is among the country’s richest fishing grounds which supplies seafood to the province, the northern part of the region, Quezon, Batangas and Laguna. Camarines Norte Gov. Edgar Tallado said that Mercedes’ rich yield is a pillar in the food sufficiency program of the province which also supports fishery-based micro, small and medium enterprises. The Fish-tival also showcased the town’s fishery and cultural heritage, its enchanting Siete Pecados group of islands, Colasi Falls and other natural wonders to promote its tourism potentials.
