MANILA, Philippines - The AsiaFood Expo (AFEX) 2012 which opened Sept. 12 at the World Trade Center in Pasay City with 516 companies, showcases the latest equipment and technology in the food and beverage industry.
Considered as the largest and longest-running annual food and beverage trade fair in the Philippines, the expo this year has participants from companies from 28 countries that use the expo as a platform to introduce their latest innovations.
LNA Management Group executive vice president Josephine Miranda said the expo, which is on its 21st year, has already built a reputation in the Philippines and in the Asia Pacific region as a leading industry event.
“Decision makers from the government and the private sector have always been present during the expo, looking for the latest trends in the food and beverage industry. Participating companies here have made it a point to use the expo as a springboard to launch new products and services,” Miranda said.
Among the countries that have companies represented in the expo are Australia, Austria, Brazil, Canada, China, Czech Republic, France, Germany, India, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, Malaysia, Mexico, Singapore, Philippines, South Korea, Spain, Sri Lanka, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, Thailand, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom and United States of America
AFEX has also received strong support from various government agencies and the private sector including the Philippine Exporters Confederation Inc., Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Hotel and Restaurant Chef’s Association of the Philippines Inc., and Philippine Bartenders League Inc.
“AsiaFood Expo can equip companies in the food and beverage industry with the right technology for them to further expand their respective businesses,” Miranda said.
Other seminars during this year’s edition of the expo tackles flexible packaging, safety monitoring systems, dust control systems, machine lubrication, product presentations, industrial automation, coal fired boiler design, and water testing.
