MANILA, Philippines - The Philippine Food Processors and Exporters Organization (Philfoodex) Inc., the country’s biggest organization of food manufacturers and exporters, opened recently the 9th Philippine Food Expo at the SM Megamall Megatrade Hall.
With the theme “Building a Global Market through Quality Philippine Food Products,” the expo incorporates Fiesta Philippines International, a supply-based food fair featuring home-grown raw materials, with emphasis on the country’s best products for the global market.
A foreign delegation of buyers from China, Hong Kong, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Singapore, the Middle East and the United States visited the four-day exposition.
Local entrepreneurs looking for fresh business ideas, and distributors and suppliers are expected to visit and attend seminars by industry experts from the government and private sectors.
Present during the opening the expo were Trade and Industry Undersecretary Tomas Aquino, Agriculture Undersecretary Bernadette Romulo-Puyat, PCCI chairman emeritus Miguel Varela, Philfoodex president Roberto Amores, Philexport president Sergio Ortiz-Luis Jr., PCCI treasurer Donald Dee, Philexport trustee and corporate secretary Luis Sicat.
