Equipment manufacturer to unveil products at Agrilink

A homegrown equipment manufacturing firm will unveil its own world-class and breakthrough products vis-à-vis the best of other countries, including the Philippines, when they all go on exhibit at the forthcoming Agrilink, Foodlink and Aqualink 2008.

Seacom, which is vigorously developing energy-saving and anti-pollution products, will particularly showcase its own fabricated solar heaters, water tanks, heat pumps, rice mills, composters and even construction equipment.

Specializing in irrigation systems, Seacom is one of the country’s top agribusiness companies.

In 1969, the company organized the Seacom Industrial Corp. (SCIC), a foundry and machining plant, to assemble Mitsubishi power tillers and water-cooled diesel engines as well as manufacture Dragon Jetmatic hand pumps.

In 1983, Seacom activated Seacom Manufacturing, Inc. (SMI) to fabricate water tanks, rice mills, composters and construction equipment.

Seacom is further diversifying into other related fields as it enters into partnership with other service-oriented firms.

The results of such partnerships will come to light in its first-ever participation in Agrilink, Foodlink and Aqualink on Oct. 9-11 at the World Trade Center Metro Manila, where Seacom’s wide range of exhibits will include Mitsubishi Meiki and Powermak engines, Mitsubishi and Denyo power generators, and Sumisansui irrigation system.

Also to be featured are Seacom’s water heating systems, which include Eneair heat pump and pool heaters that use minimal amount of electricity, Enersun solar heaters that are ideal for residential purposes, and the Jetmatic Senton water heaters and Aquamax shower heaters.

Seacom will also highlight its water filtration and conditioning systems; water waste treatment systems; residential, commercial, agricultural and industrial water pumps; rice mills and accessories; storage and pressure tanks; and environmental equipment such as garbage composters, shredders and separators.

Now on its 70th year, Seacom started as a single proprietorship founded and organized by retired government executive Jose G. Sanvictores, who acted as general manager of what was then a mere three-man trading operation.

Hence, Seacom’s products will be viewed alongside those of hundreds of foreign and local exhibitors of Agrilink, Foodlink and Aqualink, the country’s biggest and most prestigious annual international tradeshow on agribusiness, food and aquaculture.

All gathered under one roof, the exhibits include products, services, technologies, systems and facilities on post harvest, feed milling and ingredients, fertilizers and pest management, transport and logistics, waste management, food ingredient and additives, food processing and packaging, equipment and machinery, dairy products, horticulture inputs, meat products, animal health and nutrition, aquaculture equipment and inputs, breeding and spawning technologies, aquatic feeds and other industrial marine products.

Organized by the Foundation for Resource Linkage and Development (FRLD) with 20 national trade organizations and supported by ABS-CBN as media partner, the three-day event also includes seminars, live animal and plant display and other special activities that promote the country’s agricultural growth through market linkages, technology transfer, and support for less developed sectors, all generating business opportunities for the participants.

Inquiries and/or booth reservations can be made with FRLD (tel. 8384549, 8384852, fax 8384573 or email frld@pldtdsl.net).

Agrilink, Foodlink and Aqualink 2008 is also supported by the Department of Agriculture, National Agricultural and Fishery Council, Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources, and the French Chamber of Commerce in the Philippines (Le Club).
