Switzerland-based giant joins foreign firms in Agrilink 2008

A Switzerland-based machinery giant is joining the many European and other foreign firms participating in the Philippines’ biggest and most prestigious annual international tradeshow on agribusiness, food and aquaculture.

This was announced by the Foundation for Resource Linkage and Development (FRLD) after signing up the Buhler Changzhou Machinery Co. Ltd for its participation in Agrilink, Foodlink and Aqualink 2008 slated at the World Trade Center Metro Manila on Oct. 9-11. More details on Agrilink from FRLD (tel. 8384549, 8384852, fax 8384573 or email frld@pldtdsl.net). FRLD co-organizes the triple events with some 20 national trade associations, with the support of the Department of Agriculture and other agencies.

FRLD president Antonio V. Roces said the event would thus introduce to the Philippine market Buhler Changzhou’s state-of-the-art equipment and machinery for the handling and processing of grains, feeds and food.

“They (Buhler Group) are experts in the technology of grinding, mixing, thermal treatment, cereals forming, processing, die casting and engineering material production. The Buhler Group is a multinational company registered in Uzwil, Switzerland and has eight companies and two offices in Wuxi, Shenzhen, Xi’an and Changzhou in China,” Roces said.

Buhler Changzhou is recognized across Asia, supplying machines for grinding and pulverizing, dosing and mixing, pelleting, extruding and expanding, cooling, crumbling and sieving, stabilizing, drying, coating and bagging, grass pellet processing, grass cube processing, compact feed mill, compound fertilizer processing, cleaning, magnets and aspiration, conveying and other equipment.

They also have turn-key projects on livestock and poultry feed, aqua feed, premix, grass processing, hops processing, drying, storing, and conveying and port unloading for grains. Their technical services include planning and designing of turn-key installations, production lines, production analysis, operation and management training, and spare parts supply and maintenance. Their products are popular in 150 countries and regions, such as America, Japan and Western Europe, according to sales engineer Flyeagle Zhao.

One of Buhler Changzhou’s local distributors, Filipino agribusiness firm L.A. Agro Industrial Technik Enterprises, is also joining Agrilink this year.

“Like last year, we expect brisk business activities during the event’s three-day run. We’re excited that one of our foreign principals (Buhler) will be present,” said L.A. Agro general manager Luis Adriano Jr.

L.A. Agro also specializes in hammer mills, fine grinders, pulverizers, automatic dosing systems, single and double shaft paddle mixers, liquid addition and mixing systems, pellet mills, expanders, dryers, vertical and horizontal coolers, crumblers, sifters and computerized electric control system, feed plants, pre-mix, silo and extrusion plants, and aqua and pet foods.
