Agri-fishery forum set May 18-19

An Agriculture and Fishery Technology Forum will be held on May 18-19.
With "Teknolohiya sa Agricultura at Pangisdaan para sa Masaganang Kabuhayan at Kaunlaran" as its theme, the two-day forum will be held at the Department of Agriculture-Bureau of Soils and Water Management (BSWM).
Organized by the DA Bureau of Agricultural Research (BAR), the forum will be among the main highlights of the celebration of Farmer and Fisherfolk Month.
The celebration focuses on the significant accomplishments of the countrys research, development, and extension (RDE) sectors under the Arroyo administration through the leadership of DA headed by Secretary Domingo F. Panganiban.
The forum, through exhibits, will also showcase technologies and products generated by the private sector and program/projects under the DA agencies, including those supported by BAR headed by Director Nicomedes P. Eleazar.
Another highlight of the forum is the launch of he CPAR (Community-based Participatory Action Research) manual covering the Luzon, Vizayas, and Mindanao zones. CPAR is BARs RDE flagship program.
Topics to be covered by the seminar series include Agriculture and Fisheries R&D, Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) for Agribusiness Development, the bird flu issue, and the Role of Credit and Financial Institutions in Agriculture and Fisheries. RAF
