Paradizoo Farm holds livestock fair March 11-12

The 1st Paradizoo Farm Agri-Livestock Fair 2006 will be held in Panungyan, Mendez, Cavite, 15 minutes away from Tagaytay Residence Inn, from March 11 to 12 and will showcase a goat and sheep competition to be judged by Australian expert, Mike McMahon, goat breeder and show judge. McMahon is also the president of Goat Industries, Inc., a large scale goat raising program in the Philippines.
Paradizoo is an integrated theme farm consisting of animals, organic vegetables, fruit trees, and flowering plant varieties. It is an ideal spot for picnics.
Display booths for product and services cost P500 per day while selling kiosks are available at P1,500 for two days. There are still a limited number of booths and kiosks for rent. All visitors can secure a Paradizoo Privilege Card at the gate to enter free of charge and even compete in the events. The card can also be obtained at the Yupangco Bldg, Puyat Ave. cor. Nicanor Garcia St., Makati and other Yupangco outlets; the Subics Zoobic Safari; Tagaytay Residence Inn; Blu Bianco Clark Hotel; and at Ricco Renzo Cafe on LRI Bldg., Nicanor Garcia St., Bel Air II.
Trophies will be awarded to winners in several categories (BOER goats): Full Breed; First (F1) and Second (F2) Generations; Native (1,2,3); All Categories General Competition; and Special Breeds (Swan, Saanen, etc.).
Simultaneous events will include the exhibit, display, sale and auction of livestock (imported breeds of goats for milk and meat, sheep, several pig breeds, animal feed, veterinary products, and others; flowers and ornamental plants; fresh organic produce including lettuce, tomatoes, bananas; feeds, and other agricultural products. There will be briefings, discussions on breeding programs, and free consultation on livestock care. For organic growers and breeders, proper use of the EM Technology organic fertilizer from Japan for agriculture and aquaculture will be demonstrated.
Farmers, breeders, entrepreneurs, animal lovers, organic enthusiasts, and the general public are invited to watch and participate. There will be food stalls and farm harvests are for sale.
Other attractions include the sale of native and pot belly pig breeders as well as imported spotted "Dalmatian" goat at P6,990 with a matching free Dalmatian puppy dog. Interestingly, goats and pigs have been found to be trainable as pets and used as an alternative source of milk and meat, leather, soap, and its horns are also used as an aphrodisiac.
Overnight accommodations may be arranged with the Tagaytay Residence Inn or with participating hotels and inns within the area through Paradizoo Farms.
Roundtrip shuttle rides to and from Paradizoo Farms are also available at P100 per person at 7 a.m. 9 a.m., and 11 a.m. on March 11 and 12 via the Motor Kingdom Coasters "Tiger On the Run" at the Yupangco Building in Makati.
