Conference on the environment set Dec 10-13

The Center for Environmental Awareness and Education (CEAE) will hold a follow up to its highly successful Philippine Educators for the Environment Conference (PEEC). The four-day event will feature full workshops, hands-on activities, forums, film viewings, field trips and more.

Twenty-five speakers from the academe, government agencies, environmental groups and non profit organizations have been selected to cover this year’s theme, "Challenges, Models and Innovations in Environmental Education."

Joey Ayala, song writer and singer famous for his songs with environmental themes, will be conducting one concurrent session titled "Magkaugnay sa dagat ng buhay." Other topics to be covered are arts and the environment, ecological solid waste Mgt., green choice and eco-labeling, among others.

This year’s PEEC will be held on the Dec. 10-13, at the Bureau of Soils and Water Management, Visayas Ave., Quezon City. The conference is envisaged to be the venue for both formal and non-formal educators to discuss the latest developments in Environmental Education (EE). The aim is to give participants a solid definition of EE and concrete ways of bringing it to different audiences.

This conference is presented by CEAE and the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR-FRMP) and supported by Unilever Phils. and Metrobank Foundation with media partners Manila Bulletin and Philstr.com.
