Hearing on fertilizer fund set

The Senate committee on agriculture and food chaired by Sen. Ramon Magsaysay Jr. will hold a third hearing on the utilization of the P728-million fertilizer fund on Nov. 17 at 10:30 a.m. at the Senate.

Former Budget Secretary Emilia Boncodin assured Magsaysay that she will make it to the Nov. 17 hearing, after failing to attend the first two hearings due to her poor health condition and confinement at the National Kidney Transplant Institute.

On Oct. 26, Boncodin gave her deposition on the issue while confined in the said hospital where Magsaysay paid her a visit after he conducted the second hearing on the alleged fertilizer fund mess at the Senate.

In a letter dated Nov. 10 send to Boncodin, Magsaysay said her appearance and testimony on the Nov. 17 hearing is extremely necessary in the committee’s search for truth.
