September 4, 2005 | 12:00am
The two-day Rambutan Festival in lawyer Victor Lazatins 11-hectare farm in Tiaong, Quezon starts today.
From 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., visitors who will be asked to pay a minimal fee of P150 per head, will have an opportunity to harvest and eat rambutan to their hearts content. Whats more, they will be treated with a packed lunch consisting of a scoop of rice, a serving of adobo cooked Capampangan style, and a glass of juice.
Within the farm, they can roam around and feast their eyes on various high value fruits found in Atty. Lazatins orchard.
They can also have a session with pomologist Bernie Dizon who helped Atty. Lazatin establish his farm.
At the end of the day, when it is time to go home, they can buy freshly harvested rambutan at only P30 per kilo.
The experience can be repeated on Sept. 10.
