Dagupan launches ‘Balik Buto’ program

-
DAGUPAN CITY – The City Agriculture Office (CAO) here has launched a "Balik Buto" program which is part the city mayor’s efforts on a cleaner and greener environment.

"When eating fruits or vegetables, please set aside the seeds and submit it to the Agriculture Office," city agriculture officer Emma Molina said.

Molina said the seeds will be planted and germinated at the city nursery and plant propagation center located in barangay Bonuan Boquig.

She said coordination was made between the Department of Education(DepEd) and the barangays to introduce the program initially among students in public schools and residents in the city.

"The school can require students to bring seeds and plant it. It will later become the source of planting materials for the school itself and the community as well," she added. – Cesar Ramirez
