Hog farmers back DA programs
August 29, 2004 | 12:00am
The National Federation of Hog Farmers Inc. (NFHFI) officials led by chairman Nemesio Co and president Albert R.T. Lim Jr. expressed their readiness to cooperate and support the Department of Agriculture (DA) programs under its new head, Secretary Arthur C. Yap.
Co said the federation is always ready to dialogue with Yap and other DA officials on concerns that affect the hog industry and agriculture as a whole.
Lim said that the growth in agriculture cannot be achieved and sustained without the meeting of minds of the private and public sectors. He added: "NFHFI cannot achieve its goals without the help of the DA and its program, for the hog industry will not work without the help of the hog raisers. We will build a relationship based on common vision and united efforts," he concluded.
Co stated that he believes in Yaps drive, intelligence and capability to sustain and expand the achievements of the DA; and as a conservative contribution to President Arroyo.
"We are ready to dialogue with the secretary and lend a helping hand on concerns for development that affect the hog industry and the agriculture sector. We need to build a relationship based on common vision and mission," Co said.
The National Federation of Hog Farmers Inc. is composed of associations across the country in Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao.
