DENR holds planning workshop on Clean Air Act
August 10, 2003 | 12:00am
An operational planning workshop entitled "Moving Forward in the Clean Air Act Implementation" geared towards the effective implementation of Republic Act 8749, or the Philippine Clean Air Act, and participated in by key officials and representatives from various government agencies, civil society, academe, business sector and the international development community, was held recently at the Tagaytay International Convention Center in Tagaytay City.
The workshop produced an operational plan that would address identified gaps in the Clean Air Act and its implementing rules and regulations (IRR) and a draft of a multi-sectoral framework hinged on the declaration of support by sectors represented in the workshop for the effective implementation of the Act.
The planning workshop was organized by the Environmental Management Bureau of the DENR through the Metro Manila Air Quality Improvement Sector Development Program, in cooperation with USAID through its Energy-Environment Training Program. Benny Enriquez
