BINHI is a contest among print and broadcast journalists in the fields of agriculture, environment, agrarian reform, and countryside development.
It is open to all members of national and local publications, government and private agencies, nongovernment organizations (NGOs), industry associations, foundations, and cooperatives.
Deadline for submission of entries is Aug. 8 (5 p.m.)
PAJ, currently headed by The STAR agriculture editor Roman Floresca, announced that the Binhi Awards categories for 2003 are: Agricultural Journalist of the Year, Agribeat Reporter of the Year, Agricultural Magazine of the Year, Agricultural Newsletter of the Year, Agricultural Photojournalist of the Year, Agricultural Info/Media Campaign of the Year, and Agricultural Radio Program of the Year.
Participants are required to submit copies of their published articles, photos, magazines/newsletters, tapes of radio programs aired, and paraphernalia of info/media campaign launched during the contest period from July 1, 2002 to June 30, 2003.
The Binhi awards competition is open to all Filipino agricultural journalists (reporters, feature writers, columnists, broadcasters), photojournalists, newspapers, magazines, newsletters, and other institutions from both government and private sectors.
Only issues of newspapers, magazines, and newsletters, articles, and photographs published and radio broadcasts aired during the competition period (July 1, 2002-June 30, 2003) can be entered in the competition.
All entries shall be numbered consecutively per entry as they are received at the PAJ office (Department of Agriculture-Agriculture and Fisheries Information Service, Diliman, Quezon City). The number which corresponds to the contestant or institution shall be kept secret until the awards night.
