Environmental trade show set

Followers of environmental causes in the Philippines will be gratified to know that the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), the Department of Trade and Industry and the Board of Investments, have joined their considerable resources and influence in order to conduct the first environmental-technology-oriented trade exhibit this June 9 at the Rigodon Ballroom Manila Peninsula Hotel Makati; and on June 10 at the SM, Megamall Bldg. A, Activity Center.
Entitled EMPOWER, the trade exhibit aims to formulate an action plan of Industrial Environment Management (IEM), as well as bolster and strengthen the capacities of IEM of both government agencies and private industrial associations. This years theme focuses on "Respecting Environment for Industrial Competitiveness."
Different organizations, institutions and privately owned companies will be part of the event, which would advance the environmental and ecological education of both ordinary laymen and Filipino businessmen. Among the exhibitors in EMPOWER are the Department of Trade and Industry Board of Investments; Environmental Management Bureau; Philippine Business for the Environment; Department of Science and Technology; Laguna Lake Development Authority; Philippine Export Zone Authority; Clean and Green Foundation; Philexport; Noahs Paper Mills, Acetech, Kemwerke; TSB Enterprises; JICA and OM Manufacturing.
