MANILA, Philippines — Share prices retreated as investors decided to take profits following a recent rally.

The benchmark Philippine Stock Exchange index (PSEi) declined by 0.34 percent or 21.51 points to 6,284.68, snapping its three-day winning streak.

The broader All Shares index, on the other hand, inched up by 0.007 percent or 0.27 points to settle at 3,723.09.

“The PSEi corrected slightly lower, considered a healthy correction after gaining for three straight trading days and also after gaining for most days since the start of March 2025,” RCBC chief economist Michael Ricafort said.

Luis Limlingan of Regina Capital said that markets remain volatile amid US President Donald Trump’s shifting trade policies.

Limlingan said that regionally, Asia continued to gain after China announced stimulus measures to boost consumption.

Net value turnover at the local market picked up to P6.82 billion from the previous day’s P4.81 billion.

Only two sectors finished in the positive territory, property as well as mining and oil, which increased by 2.64 percent and 0.66 percent, respectively.

The services index was the biggest loser, sliding by 0.68 percent.

Market breadth was positive as advancers triumphed over decliners, 100 to 92, while 44 issues were unchanged.

BDO Unibank was the top traded company, plunging by 1.6 percent to P160.40 per share, followed by DigiPlus which surged by 5.42 percent to P38.90.
