MANILA, Philippines — Professional services firm PwC has opened its P1 billion acceleration center at the Bonifacio Global City (BGC), which caters to global clients.

PwC Philippines chairman and senior partner Roderick Danao told reporters the firm invested about P1 billion for the new facility, which is expected to strengthen its role in providing advisory services.

The opening of the new facility marks the firm’s expansion of its acceleration center operations in the country, complementing an existing facility located in Pasig City.

The BGC facility is expected to create 2,000 jobs over the next two years.

Beyond job creation, the new facility will also help in the professional growth of the Filipino workforce by providing opportunities for skill development in cutting-edge technologies and methodologies.

PwC acceleration centers leader Hari Kumar said the new facility would have high-end technology as a key focus in terms of talent attraction and development.

“We’re talking about high-end tech. That includes Al (artificial intelligence), that includes cybersecurity, which is a big piece of what we are trying to think about here in terms of the future,” he said.

He said PwC decided to expand in the Philippines, given the country’s talent pool.

“Our investment in the Philippines highlights our confidence in the incredible talent here and our commitment to delivering exceptional value to our clients. We are combining local expertise with our global network to work as one for our clients across the world,” he said.
