MANILA, Philippines — Kia Philippines achieved its highest monthly sales in December last year, contributing to the 33 percent growth in its full-year 2024 sales.

In a statement, Kia Philippines, which is under Ayala Group’s ACMobility, said it sold 6,692 units last year, representing a 33 percent growth year-on-year.

In December alone, Kia Philippines sold 805 units, its highest monthly sales ever.

“We are incredibly pleased with the performance of our vehicles in 2024, which has resonated well with Filipino consumers,” Antonio “Toti” Zara III, head of automotive retail distribution at ACMobility said.

“Surpassing 800 unit sales in a single month is a testament to the hard work of our team and dealer partners and it highlights the momentum we’ve built in the market with models that address the aspirations of Filipino motorists. As we continue to lead a movement that inspires, we are excited to carry this success into 2025 and beyond,” he said further.

Driving Kia Philippines’ sales performance was the Sonet, with 3,823 units sold last year.

Launched in June last year, the Sonet captured a 23 percent market share in the subcompact sports utility vehicle segment, making it the fourth best-selling model in that category in 2024.

Due to its strong market appeal and customer demand, Sonet’s monthly sales also tripled those of its predecessor, the Stonic.

Last year, Kia Philippines expanded its electric vehicle (EV) lineup with the launch of the EV6 crossover, as well as the Carnival Turbo Hybrid.

To cater to market demand, Kia Philippines will continue to offer reliable, modern and fuel-efficient vehicles.

As it aims to build on its strong sales momentum, Kia Philippines will be expanding its EV lineup through the launch of the Sorento Turbo Hybrid this year.

“2024 has been a pivotal year for Kia Philippines, and we’re thrilled with the growth we’ve seen. Our success with the Sonet and other models reinforces our commitment to delivering innovative, reliable and stylish vehicles to Filipino consumers. We’re excited to build on this momentum and continue offering products that meet the needs of the modern Filipino driver,” Kia Philippines chief operating officer Brian Buendia said.
