Tanduay eyes more markets overseas

MANILA, Philippines —   Lucio Tan–owned Philippine rum brand Tanduay is eyeing to expand its presence overseas with plans to enter several new markets.

In a statement, Tanduay said that its entry into the Czech Republic and South Korea markets was among its accomplishments in the past year.

“Plans are underway to establish a brand presence in France, Italy, Spain, Denmark, the Nordic Region and Latin America,” the company said.

Aside from the two new markets it entered last year, Tanduay products are also available in Armenia, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Costa Rica, Georgia, Germany, Hungary, Luxembourg, Malta, New Zealand, People’s Republic of China, Peru, Poland, Singapore, Taiwan, the Netherlands, United Arab Emirates, United States and United Kingdom.

“As Tanduay looks to add more years of excellence to its storied history, it continues to innovate while remaining true to its tradition of craftsmanship,” the company said.

In addition to its entry into new markets, another achievement of the company last year was receiving honors at different international spirits competitions.

Tanduay Double Rum received gold awards from the Beverage Testing Institute and the SIP Awards while the Tanduay Asian Rum Gold also won a gold in the Best Buy Category of the Beverage Testing Institute and an Innovation Award at the SIP Awards.

Similarly, Tanduay Asian Rum Silver was bestowed gold awards at the San Diego Spirits Festival, and Especia Spiced Rum earned a gold and a Best in Category for Spiced Rum award at the New Orleans Spirits Competition.

Founded in 1854, Tanduay began as a small distillery in Manila and has since grown into a global powerhouse.
