MANILA, Philippines — The construction unit of the Aboitiz Group has bagged the site development works package for Taiheiyo Cement’s upcoming cement plant in Batangas.
Aboitiz Construction said the project is set to significantly contribute to the region’s infrastructure development.
It includes essential site preparation work, such as earthworks, backfilling and the construction of a retaining wall for the new cement production facility.
According to Aboitiz Construction, a significant portion of the workforce would be locally sourced, contributing to the economic growth of the community.
It said that the completion of the site development would support Taiheiyo Cement in its goal to produce high-quality cement, which, in turn, will help drive infrastructure projects throughout the region.
Aboitiz Construction said the project is aligned with its transformative purpose of building for business to prosper and communities to thrive.
“This project is an exciting opportunity for Aboitiz Construction to play an integral role in the development of essential infrastructure materials,” Aboitiz Construction vice president for business development construction Levi Agoncillo said.
“By ensuring the availability of quality cement for future projects, we are contributing to a better future for the Philippines,” Agoncillo said.
