Smart expects 5G expansion to drive revenues in 2025

Smart has reinforced its 5G coverage in major event venues such as the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City, the Philippine Arena in Bulacan and the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay.

MANILA, Philippines — Smart Communications Inc., the wireless subsidiary of PLDT Inc., expects its 5G network expansion to drive revenue growth next year.

Smart has reinforced its 5G coverage in major event venues such as the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City, the Philippine Arena in Bulacan and the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay.

It has likewise rolled out new sites in Bonifacio Global City in Taguig to strengthen 5G coverage and launched affordable devices to make 5G more accessible.

“By harnessing the power of 5G and expanding 5G city-by-city, we at Smart are committed to delivering the world-class experiences that Filipinos truly deserve,” Smart COO Anastacio Martirez said.

“On top of the network rollout itself, focusing on seamlessness of coverage and customer satisfaction is paramount. Our network should be where people live, work, play and travel,” he said.

PLDT said continued investments in enhancing its integrated network, including its robust 5G infrastructure, is aligned with the group’s commitment to deliver leveled-up customer experience across the country.

Smart’s mobile network covers 97 percent of the population and is part of the country’s largest integrated network that includes PLDT’s extensive fiber infrastructure.

PLDT said that Smart’s innovative mobile products and services contribute to the group’s endeavors to narrow the digital divide and provide connectivity to all.
