MANILA, Philippines — Solar firm Green Heat Corp. wants to complete P2 billion worth of solar projects in the next 18 months as part of efforts to offer energy-efficient solutions amid a growing power demand.

“We’re talking to a lot of large enterprises. What I can tell you is that they’re primarily rooftop installations,” Green Heat managing director Glenn Tong said at a press conference yesterday.

Since the pandemic, he said that the demand for solar photovoltaic (PV) rooftop installations has surged due to the need for energy independence, cost savings and rising environmental concerns.

“We are committed to addressing this demand for clean energy. It has always been our mandate to contribute to the global drive toward net zero carbon emissions,” Tong said.

Founded in 2010, Green Heat is an energy solutions provider for large-scale businesses. It established GreenDot in 2015 to serve as its residential arm to cater to smaller installations.

Over the past four years, the companies have installed more than 90 rooftop solar systems for residential consumers and businesses such as SM Malls, Landers Superstores and Wilcon Depot.

“We now have new services and technologies that make solar PV systems more efficient, allowing owners to enjoy the benefits of renewable energy for a much longer period,” Tong said.

The company currently offers financing options to its clients via partnerships with several major banks, including Bank of the Philippine Islands, BDO Unibank and Security Bank.

Likewise, Green Heat and GreenDot also launched new operations and maintenance and quality assurance services to maximize system efficiency.

As part of their services, both companies also provide repair and refurbishment of other solar PV rooftop projects that have been left unfinished or malfunctioning.
