MANILA, Philippines — Close to 170 projects worth P3.18 trillion are now in the pipeline for implementation through public private partnership (PPP), data from the PPP Center showed.
Of these projects, 113 are national projects worth P2.98 trillion.
The bulk or 75 of the national projects are solicited, while 38 are unsolicited or those submitted by a private proponent.
Data also showed there are 56 local PPP projects amounting to P206.15 billion, of which 16 projects are solicited and 40 are unsolicited.
The PPP Center said two PPP projects are in advanced stages and may be awarded within the year such as the P4.53-billion New Bohol International Airport and the P1.2-billion Negros Occidental Bulk Water Supply Project.
Projects that may be awarded next year are the P9.49-billion University of the Philippines - Philippine General Hospital (UP-PGH) Cancer Center, P710-million Bislig City Bulk Water Supply, P80 million Bislig City Septage Project and the P390-million Dialysis Center PPP Project for the Renal Facility of the Baguio General Hospital and Medical Center.
Meanwhile, projects that may be submitted for govenrment approval by the end of this year are the P8.01-billion Boracay Bridge Project proposed by San Miguel Holdings Corp., P71.69-billion Metro Manila Subway Project Operations and Maintenance (O&M) Project, P171.77-billion North-South Commuter Railway O&M Project, P14.84-billion San Ramon Newport Project, UP PGH Diliman Project and the P20.85-billion Iloilo International Airport Project.
Those that may be submitted for approval next year are the Cagayan Valley Medical Center, Kalibo International Airport Project and Puerto Princesa International Airport Project.
