Richmond Mercurio - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines — Ayala Healthcare Holdings Inc. (AC Health) is expanding its pharma importation businesses with the construction of a new warehouse at the Cavite Technopark.

AC Health said IE Medica, a pharmaceutical importer and distribution company, is building a new facility that would play a key role in supporting the company’s long-term vision of increasing efficiency and enhancing supply chain solutions.

The warehouse, which is expected to be fully operational by 2026, will serve as a cornerstone in streamlining distribution and is seen accommodating growing product demand.

It will support an expanded inventory, streamline the process from receiving to quality assurance as well as ensure faster and more efficient dispatch.

IE Medica CEO Ma. Victoria Sugapong said the project plays a pivotal role in achieving the company’s long-term vision of becoming the country’s recognized supplier of quality and affordable medicines.

“This groundbreaking is more than just a symbol of expansion. It represents our commitment to operational excellence and the delivery of end-to-end supply chain solutions that ensure quality, efficiency and growth,” she said.

Founded in 2007, IE Medica has a portfolio over 500 certificate of product registration in various therapeutic areas.

The company has been dedicated to providing innovative, affordable and high-quality healthcare solutions to Filipinos.

It became the first pharmaceutical company in the Philippines to be granted the authorized economic operator pre-screening certificate this year.

In 2019, AC Health acquired minority stakes in IE Medica and its affiliated distribution company MedEthix to expand its pharma portfolio and elevate the healthcare landscape in the Philippines.

This partnership has enabled both companies to better serve Filipinos by improving access to quality healthcare.

“This commitment to operational excellence isn’t just about scaling up; it’s about doing things better. It’s about ensuring that as we continue to expand, we remain agile and responsive to the healthcare needs of Filipinos, especially as we grow our portfolio,” AC Health president and CEO Paolo Borromeo said.
