MANILA, Philippines — The Center for Global Best Practices will hold an online training program titled the 2019 Revised Corporation Code of the Philippines on Oct. 4 from 1:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. via Zoom.
The program is designed to help participants understand the revised corporation code of the Philippines, structure their deals, avoid the legal pitfalls when making decisions at the board and management level, or when doing business and investing in the Philippines.
The revised legal framework introduces fresh concepts aligned with international best practices aimed at improving ease of doing business in the country. It will also cover updates on essential Securities and Exchange Commission-issued regulations and recent jurisprudence affecting corporations. The program is SEC-accredited for corporate governance and MCLE-accredited for lawyers. Board directors and key management officials of public or publicly-listed companies are mandated by the SEC to attend a yearly corporate governance training for them to be eligible for re-election in the board.
Learn from lawyer Justina Callangan who is the former director of Corporate Governance and Finance Department of the Securities and Exchange Commission. Her responsibilities included the supervision of companies that are covered by new various codes of corporate governance.
Registration is open to the general public and is a must for chairmen and board directors, corporate secretaries, compliance officers, lawyers, accountants, entrepreneurs, investors, business consultants, and decision-makers of all corporations.
