MANILA, Philippines — Lopez-led economic zone developer First Philippine Industrial Park (FPIP) in Tanauan City, Batangas, has concluded another blood-letting activity in support of efforts of the Philippine Red Cross for voluntary or non-remunerated blood from donors.

FPIP holds the blood-letting activity every quarter as part of its support for the PRC branch in Tanauan City.

In the latest drive, FPIP gathered over a hundred units of blood from close to 200 employees of the ecozone and its locators.

FPIP also has an outstanding commitment with PRC to organize Tanauan City volunteers, trained to respond rapidly to emergencies and disasters.

First Philippine Holdings Corp. (FPH), together with partner Sumitomo Corp. of Japan, established FPIP as a world-class location for global manufacturers and traders, as well as a platform for creating jobs for ordinary Filipinos and tax revenues for the government.

Straddling the cities of Santo Tomas and Tanauan in Batangas, the 520-hectare FPIP ecozone provides employment for almost 70,000 Filipinos, aside from generating hundreds of millions of pesos in tax revenues for the host local government units. FPIP’s establishment fulfills the role that FPIP’s late chairman Emeritus Oscar M. Lopez enshrined in the company’s original mission statement, which is “to advance national development through industry catalyzation and job creation.”
