MANILA, Philippines — Robinsons Land Corp. (RLC), the real estate firm of the Gokongwei family, is joining forces with the state-run Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) to develop a new mixed-use project in Taguig.

Called the Bonifacio Capital District, the new RLC-BCDA project aims to elevate urban living in Metro Manila by combining residential, commercial, office, hotel and recreational spaces into a sustainable community.

It will be developed on a prime 61,761-square-meter property in Taguig.

“Robinsons Land is committed to doing our part in nation-building as we create sustainable, innovative, and dynamic spaces that enhance the quality of life for the communities we serve,” RLC senior vice president and business unit general manager Mybelle Aragon-GoBio said.

“The Bonifacio Capital District project embodies this aspiration, and we are excited to contribute to the growth and development of this vibrant area,” she said.

RLC said the development would incorporate smart technology and sustainability solutions, including energy-saving features, passive cooling architecture and state-of-the-art Internet of Things technologies.

To preserve the aesthetic appeal and functionality of the area, vital utilities such as power, internet and communications lines will be located underground.

RLC said it is bringing its proven track record in the real estate industry to its joint venture with the BCDA.

By working with the BCDA on the Bonifacio Capital District, the company said it is set to transform the city of Taguig and raise the bar for purposeful, sustainable and innovative urban living.

“This landmark project is part of the BCDA’s initiative to create sustainable communities for businesses, residents, and commuters while also maximizing our assets’ economic potential,” BCDA president and CEO Joshua Bingcang said.

“With the help of RLC, we hope to create a model development for areas surrounding subway and railway stations to be developed within the BCDA’s economic zones and properties,” Bingcang said.

The Bonifacio Capital District is ideally positioned near major thoroughfares such as Lawton Avenue, Chino Roces Extension, the South Luzon Expressway, and schools, hospitals and commercial centers.

The development will also be in the immediate area of the Lawton station for the Metro Manila Subway Project. This 33-kilometer underground railway will enhance connectivity between East Valenzuela in the north to Bicutan in the south.
