MANILA, Philippines — MSpectrum, the solar energy arm of Pangilinan-led Manila Electric Co. (Meralco) has activated the 726-kilowatt-peak solar rooftop facility of Japanese manufacturer Citizen Finedevice Philippines Corp.

The project, located at Citizen Finedevice’s manufacturing plant in Santo Tomas, Batangas, is expected to generate around 1.055 gigawatt-hours of clean energy annually and reduce the firm’s carbon footprint by about 751 metric tons.

“MSpectrum strives to provide our partners with the means to achieve their sustainability and financial goals. We do this through our end-to-end solar energy offering, which utilizes top-tier quality and reliable services to empower sustainable operations for Citizen Finedevice,” MSpectrum COO Patrick Henry Panlilio said.

Panlilio vowed to provide their Japanese partner with the necessary support to continue moving forward toward becoming a “more sustainable business.”

Citizen Finedevice is a manufacturing firm involved in the production and sale of precise metal-machined components for various gadgets and devices.

“Sustainability has always been rooted in the work that we do. We see our partnership with MSpectrum as the catalyst for our green energy journey,” said Citizen Finedevice Philippines president Tomoya Koyama.

As of June 2024, MSpectrum’s solar rooftop portfolio of ongoing and operating capacity had reached 70 megawatts, 98 percent of which consisted of commercial and industrial clients.

Backed by the Meralco Group’s energy expertise and proven track record, the company offers services and solar solutions to help customers lower their electricity costs while advancing their sustainability initiatives.

The majority of MSpectrum’s existing portfolio is located within the Meralco franchise area in Luzon. It earlier disclosed plans to expand its footprint in the Visayas and Mindanao.
