More Chooks-to-Go outlets, restaurants to open this year

MANILA, Philippines — Bounty Fresh Group Holdings Inc. is expanding its famous Chooks-to-Go rotisserie chain to 1,900 outlets and Chooks! dine-in restaurants to at least 40 by the end of the year.

Kenneth Cheng, CEO of Bounty, said the company remains focused on expanding both its rotisseries and restaurants to meet the growing demand of Filipinos for various chicken products.

“We are definitely going to add more stores. (It is) not only (adding) more stores but we will be adding more restaurants,” Cheng said in a press briefing yesterday.

Bounty currently has around 1,800 Chooks-to-Go rotisseries and 37 Chooks! restaurants nationwide.

Cheng said the country’s demand for chicken continues to grow on an annual basis.

He noted that the country’s per capita consumption of chicken is about 21 kilograms with 16 kilograms of which being supplied by local producers.

The integrated poultry operator continues to ramp up its biosecurity efforts to prevent the entry of avian influenza or bird flu in its farms, said Vicente Manalo Jr., the group’s senior vice president and chief agriculture officer.

“We can assure you that our chickens are protected from bird flu,” Manalo said.

Manalo emphasized that the chickens being raised by Bounty do not have a single antibiotics in their bodies as a result of its no antibiotics ever technology.

This contributes in preventing antimicrobial resistance among humans, which has been considered as a “serious” health problem by the World Health Organization, according to the firm.

Bounty yesterday introduced its Food Made Better campaign to make people more aware of the various activities that the firm is doing serve its customers and stakeholders better.

“As part of our commitment to doing better for families, entrepreneurs, talents, and communities, the Food Made Better campaign reinforces our dedication to continuous improvement,” Cheng said.

“This commitment is reflected in our expanding product offerings, innovative solutions, employer brand values, and our unwavering focus on sustainability and community support,” he added.
