MANILA, Philippines — Tycoon Manuel Villar Jr. is gearing up for the next phase of development for the 3,500-hectare Villar City.

As Villar’s most ambitious project to date, Villar City was launched in August last year to become “a thriving nexus where economic, lifestyle, cultural and leisure activities will converge.”

“One year after we launched Villar City, we are now firming up plans for two golf courses, a church, an events arena, a prestigious university, an integrated entertainment complex, a partnership with a renowned hospital, and more road networks to cut travel time across Cavite and Metro Manila, among other features,” Villar said.

“These components will be spread throughout Villar City to cater to the evolving needs not only of today’s market but also those of the next generation of homeowners,” he said.

The massive integrated development will feature modern districts including a central business district, a tech valley, university town and a premier lifestyle hub, along with leisure and recreational facilities.

Close to 900 hectares of the 3,500 hectares in Villar City have been activated or developed by Vista Land at present. These developed areas are home to neighborhoods, shopping complexes and offices.

“We’ve only just begun our work. This will take many years – even decades – to complete. But we’re already laying the groundwork, filling up this beautiful blank canvas to create the new center of gravity of Metro Manila,” Villar said.

Villar said the new phase marks his commitment to sustain the development of Villar City, which is seen as an emerging and expansive megalopolis that connects 15 towns and cities across Metro Manila and Cavite.

He said different components that will be included in the massive development have been carefully selected to ensure that future residents and workers will get to live in a safe and healthy yet modern and complete environment.

“An environment where they can be near nature, have access to lush open spaces, walk around the community freely, while still enjoying top tier facilities, leisure hubs and other recreational options, all in an interconnected area,” Villar said.

The latest phase of development, in particular, anticipates the expected institutional and recreational needs of future communities in Villar City.

The golf courses, arena and integrated entertainment complex with a casino will provide avenues for residents and guests to relax and stay active.

A university and hospital, meanwhile, will ensure convenient access to premier education and topnotch medical facilities, respectively.

Last year, the Villar Group opened the 10-kilometer, 10-lane Villar Ave. that connects Las Piñas, Bacoor and the university district in Dasmariñas, Cavite.
