Mitsubishi revs up new compact SUV

MANILA, Philippines — Customers can now make a reservation for Mitsubishi XForce as Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corp. (MMPC) has opened the pre-booking at its dealerships ahead of the vehicle’s launch this Friday.

In a statement, MMPC said customers may pre-book the Mitsubishi XForce compact sports utility vehicle (SUV)  by visiting any of the automotive firm’s dealerships nationwide.

MMPC is set to unveil the XForce on Friday.

Following the launch, the vehicle will be on public display at the SM Aura Premiere in Taguig until July 7.

MMPC expects the XForce to be a gamechanger in the compact SUV segment as the vehicle features a powerful exterior and offers driving capability with multiple selectable drive modes, ensuring stability and control in various conditions.

The vehicle retails for P1.367 million for the GLS CVT variant, while the GT CVT variant costs P1.581 million.

Customers who will make a reservation during the public display event will get an exclusive discount of P10,000.

Those who will reserve, purchase and receive their XForce units within July 5 to 31, 2024 will be given exclusive items including an Apple Watch with XForce strap, XForce jacket and complimentary VIP access for the upcoming XForce test drive tour and activities.

Earlier, MMPC said it expects the XForce to help drive higher sales for the company this year.

Data from the Chamber of Automotive Manufacturers of the Philippines Inc. and Truck Manufacturers Association showed that MMPC sold 35,146 units in the January to May period this year, up by 16.4 percent from the 30,200 units in the same period last year.

It accounted for the second biggest share in the country’s vehicle sales during the five-month period at 18.78 percent.

For the month of May alone, MMPC’s sales increased by 7.3 percent to 7,318 units this year from the 6,822 units in the previous year.
