Pinoys get first crack at Creta gaming platform
MANILA, Philippines — The Philippines is getting the first crack on the pioneering multiverse gaming entertainment platform Creta, which is eyed to be a central platform for the next era of digital entertainment and interactive media.
Developed by globally renowned game creators, Creta is expected to attract two to three million users in the Philippines initially in the next six months.
“We’re going to launch our test services first, so it’s a beta service. So Filipino gamers and the industry can give us a lot of feedback to refine our services before we launch globally,” Creta partner and chief creative officer Ray Eiichiro Nakazato said.
“This is a free service. Only less than 10 percent of people will spend money to our services so we need a big user base eventually. For Creta to make sense, we need at least 10 million users worldwide. But for our test, we start in the Philippines with maybe two to three million users,” he said.
As a platform, Creta will have four components – an NFT marketplace and game publishing platform called “Creta Games,” a decentralized Web3-based social media community called “Super Club,” a next-gen game creation platform called “Creta Studio” and metaverse worlds called “Creta Multiverse.”
“Currently, the team is working on some interesting business models and the scalability of what we’re building is impressive,” said Creta partner Thomas Vu, creator of global phenomenon “League of Legends” and Netflix’s Emmy-winning series “Arcane.”
“Oftentimes, when you see people build ecosystems, it’s piecemeal. With Creta, our team has been really thoughtful and strategic about building all the pieces together harmoniously and I think that connective tissue is really important. It’s designed to be ubiquitous in all these different ways and I suspect that it’s going to catch a lot of people off guard,” Vu said.
Creta will be listing its token at the local cryptocurrency exchange Coins.ph and later on at the Philippine Digital Asset Exchange (PDAX).
Nakazato said they would list the token at Coins.ph on July 8 while no definite date yet has been set for the PDAX listing.
With 16 million users,
Coins.ph is the most established crypto brand in the Philippines and is a platform for trading and storing cryptocurrency.
“Creta token is a utility token. So all the services we provide within Creta platform, you’re going to have to use Creta token. We will change the Creta token into Creta game points and you use these Creta game points to purchase stuff. But once you make an NFT (non-fungible token) out of your game or your own NFTs, you can sell as an NFT,” Nakazato said.
