MANILA, Philippines — The Gotianun family is investing P2.7 billion to kick-off its new line of hotels which is expected to further fuel the growth of the group’s hospitality business.
Filinvest Hospitality Corp. (FHC) said it has formally topped-off Grafik Hotel Collection Baguio, its latest hotel development located within Camp John Hay.
Grafik Hotel Collection Baguio, which will feature 256 upscale accommodations, five food and beverage outlets, a grand ballroom, meeting spaces and a spa, is eyed for opening by the first quarter of 2025.
The hotel is the first property in FHC’s Grafik Hotel Collection, a new line of hotels “aiming to deliver guest experiences that will inspire stories about Filipino culture and heritage.”
FHC has teamed up with the Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) and John Hay Management Corp. for the project.
“The Grafik Hotel Collection is poised to make a significant impact on the local economy. By creating numerous employment opportunities, we aim to engage and uplift the community,” FHC first senior vice president Francis Gotianun said.
During its construction phase, the project has generated approximately 3,000 jobs. It will hire around 250 to 300 employees when the hotel becomes operational.
“Our project will not only boost tourism but also foster a sense of pride and involvement among the residents of Baguio. We are committed to contributing to the city’s growth and prosperity,” Gotianun said.
BCDA president and chief executive officer Joshua Bingcang said the new hotel would enhance Camp John Hay’s position as a leading tourist haven and hub for leisure and business.
“This is an excellent addition to the world-class hotels lining up Camp John Hay and we hope this entices more tourists to choose John Hay as their next destination,” Bingcang said.
FHC currently manages seven hotels ranging from high-end five-star properties under the Crimson brand to Quest hotels and Timberland which serve the mid-priced leisure markets.
The Grafik Hotel Collection in Baguio is the eighth hotel property of the Filinvest Group.
According to FHC, the Grafik Hotel Collection seeks to “bring the world to the Philippines and to take the Philippines to the world, pioneering new paths in Filipino hospitality through fresh perspectives and unforgettable experiences.”
