MANILA, Philippines — PTT Philippines Corp. (PTTPC), a subsidiary of the national oil company of Thailand, has appointed Athiwat Rattanakorn as its new president and CEO, effective June 1.

Athiwat succeeds Khun Sukanya Seriyothin, who retired last month.

Athiwat started his career in the Philippines in April last year, working as a marketing director for PTTPC.

Prior to that, he served as an international and supply sales division manager at PTTPC’s parent firm, PTT Oil and Retail Business Public Co. Ltd. (PTTOR), for four years.

He also briefly worked as PTTOR’s supply chain manager, where he oversaw the procurement of petroleum products and sourcing from the global market to cater to national demand.

Athiwat’s expertise in trading petroleum products includes exporting from domestic refineries to key Asian markets, including Indonesia, Singapore, Bangladesh, China and the Philippines.

He also previously served as a crude oil trader for PTT Plc in Singapore, responsible for sourcing crude oil and condensate from national oil firms in the Middle East, West Africa and the Far East to supply PTT Group’s refineries.

Before his stint in Singapore, Athiwat was involved in the crude oil operations of PTT Plc in Bangkok for four years following his initial role as a planner and analyst.

In 2003, Athiwat earned a post-graduate degree in information management and systems from Monash University in Melbourne, Australia.

PTTOR is mainly engaged in the sales and distribution of petroleum products, retail business and other services. It also invests in related companies while striving to deliver remarkable consumer experiences through its goodsand services.
