MANILA, Philippines —  The Manila International Airport Authority on Tuesday announced that several domestic flights have been canceled due to the volcanic activity of Mt. Kanlaon.

In an advisory, the MIAA said a number of flights of Cebu Pacific, AirAsia and PAL Express to and from Bacolod, Iloilo, Cebu and San Jose, Antique have been grounded.

The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology raised the alert level over Kanlaon Volcano from Alert Level 1 to Alert Level 2 after an explosive eruption occurred at the summit vent of the volcano at 6:51 p.m. on Monday.
