MANILA, Philippines — DoubleDragon Corp., the listed property developer chaired by Edgar “Injap” Sia II and co-chaired by Tony Tan Caktiong, is bringing the innovative multi-brand format of the Jollibee Group to its network of CityMalls across the country.

The company’s CityMall-Calamba Laguna is the first CityMall to welcome the first Jollibee Group multi-brand store conversion, which features the brands under the Jollibee Group namely Jollibee, Mang Inasal, Greenwich and Chowking in a single kitchen.

The conversion allows for a combined ordering process without having the need to queue and pay in each of the brands separately.

“DoubleDragon expects this new and innovative multi-brand format of the Jollibee Group to complement and blend well to the provincial community center concept of CityMall,” Sia said.

“We are looking forward to seeing this new innovative format eventually in all the CityMalls in Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao,” he said.

CityMall is a chain of neighborhood community centers positioned in the provincial areas in Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao which provides basic essential needs and services.

It is envisioned to become one of the largest branded independent community mall chains in the country.

By the second half of the year, DoubleDragon is set to open a new CityMall in Antique, which would make the company the third largest mall developer in the Philippines.

Located right across the Antique Provincial Capitol, CityMall-Antique will serve as DoubleDragon’s 50th CityMall nationwide.

The company said its network of operating CityMalls nationwide is expected to achieve its optimal market relevance by 2025.

The first-ever CityMall was completed in December 2014.

DoubleDragon is one of the few Philippine companies that operates its modern community malls in provincial areas as far as Cotabato City, Koronadal City, Dipolog City in Zamboanga Del Norte and Isulan, Sultan Kudarat.

The company said these malls not only further stimulate the countryside local economy but enable the positive economic growth to be felt by the real provincial countryside.

In addition, DoubleDragon is one of the very few Philippines companies that have commercial investments as far as Basilan Sulu in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region.
