MANILA, Philippines — Golden Arches Development Corp. (GADC), the company behind McDonald’s Philippines, is ramping up its expansion with plans to open more stores outside Metro Manila.
McDonald’s Philippines assistant vice president for corporate relations and impact Adi Hernandez said the company would open at least 60 stores this year.
“McDonald’s Philippines is growing aggressively. We ended 2023 by opening 50 stores and this year we’re opening at least 60 stores,” Hernandez said.
Majority of the 60 stores to be opened this year are outside Metro Manila.
“We’re very excited to keep on growing, especially in areas outside Metro Manila,” Hernandez said. “And for the next couple of years we’ll be opening an average of 50 stores.”
McDonald’s Philippines has over 740 stores all over the country to date.
GADC is a partnership between Andrew Tan’s Alliance Global Group Inc. and the George Yang Group. It holds the exclusive franchise to operate McDonald’s restaurants in the Philippines.
“The growth of McDonald’s Philippines is not just about opening new stores, but doing things better. And what does this mean? It’s serving delicious feel-good moments for everyone. So what we’re trying to do is improve the taste and quality of our products,” Hernandez said.
“We consistently work to ensure we remain relevant and responsive to the changing market and consumer demands, especially for Gen Z,” she said.
