MANILA, Philippines — Homegrown fast-food giant Jollibee and The Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf (CBTL), another Jollibee Group-owned brand, continue to strengthen their appeal among mainstream consumers in countries outside the Philippines.

Jollibee and CBTL earned the approval of customers in Kuwait, having been recognized as among the Top 10 Brands for Customer Satisfaction, according to the Service Hero Customer Satisfaction Index Awards, an annual recognition program that honors companies in Kuwait which deliver exceptional customer service.

With over 500 brands across 20 categories surveyed, the listing measures key service factors such as expectations, overall satisfaction and likelihood of recommendation.

It also measures different service dimensions such as staff, location, product quality, value for money, speed and reliability, among others.

“Being recognized among Kuwait’s Top 10 brands for customer satisfaction from over 500 brands is a testament to our commitment to providing customers with great-tasting food served with the warmth and joyful service that the Jollibee brand is known for. This citation is not only a badge of honor for us, but it also means we are fulfilling our promise to our customers,” Jollibee Group chief business officer and Jollibee Global head Joseph Tanbuntiong said.

The first Jollibee store was opened in February 2012 in Al Watya, Kuwait City through franchisee Yacoub Aljajery of the Al Musaifra Catering Co.

Jollibee currently has seven stores in Kuwait.

It also has stores in other Middle East countries such as the United Arab Emirates, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Bahrain and Oman.

Meanwhile, aside from being cited as among the Top 10 Brands in Kuwait, Jollibee Group’s flagship brand for the coffee and tea business CBTL has also emerged as the top brand in the café category.

CBTL was first launched in Kuwait in 2004 with the brand’s Kuwaiti international franchise partner, Abdulghani Al Ghunaim, chairman of Al-Ghunaim Trading Co. Ltd.

CBTL currently has 73 cafes in Kuwait and aims to reach 100 cafés by 2025.

“We are incredibly proud of our team in Kuwait for earning this recognition. Their dedication for providing exceptional service and high-quality coffee and tea experiences underscores our core values and rich heritage of serving the best specialty coffee and tea at the highest quality with care in every cup,” CBTL Global CEO John in de Braekt said.

CBTL was acquired by the Jollibee Group in 2019, making it the company’s largest and most multinational acquisition so far with business presence in 24 countries.

CBTL has 1,172 stores worldwide as of February.

“Being recognized as a top café for customer satisfaction is a great example of living our Jollibee Group mission of serving great-tasting food, bringing the joy of eating to everyone,” Jollibee Group president and CEO Ernesto Tanmantiong said.
