MANILA, Philippines — The presence of Elon Musk’s US technology giant Starlink in the Philippines will get a further boost with the help of listed DFNN Inc. and Sy-led Data Lake Inc.

DFNN in a stock exchange filing said it has signed a teaming agreement with Data Lake to collaborate in bolstering Starlink’s presence in the country by utilizing complementary technology, sales channels, as well as marketing expertise of both DFNN and Data Lake.

“The link-up will leverage DFNN’s historic pioneering initiatives in technology with Data Lake’s founders’ experience and business track record,” DFNN said.

DFNN is a publicly-listed company committed to advancing innovation, transforming industries and creating positive impact.

The company said its chairman Ramon Garcia Jr. had actively contributed to Starlink’s entry into the country by assisting in the passage of enabling laws that made the business a viable domestic enterprise.

Starlink, which is operated by Musk’s SpaceX, provides satellite internet that is expected to link hard-to-reach and far-flung areas as it beams internet signals directly from space.

Data Lake, for its part, is an emerging technology company under the leadership of Henry Sy Jr. and Anthony Almeda.

It bridges the digital divide as an authorized reseller and integrator of Starlink in the region.

DFNN said its collaboration with Data Lake is projected to fast-track connectivity of geographically isolated and disadvantageous areas with the use of Starlink’s low Earth orbit satellites and complimentary technologies, “thereby expanding the digital infrastructure of the country integral to the global digital economy.”
