Sunlight Air to move operations to Clark International Airport
MANILA, Philippines — Starting April 1, boutique airline Sunlight Air will mainly operate in its new home, Clark International Airport (CRK).
The carrier said that while it will primarily operate from CRK, its existing booth at Terminal 4 of Ninoy Aquino International Airport would cater exclusively to flights between Manila to Cebu.
The management also said that passengers with existing flights booked from NAIA will be receiving an advisory on changes to their bookings given the move. They will likewise be provided shared shuttle services.
As the transition will take effect in April, the majority of flights booked for departure or arrival until March 31, 2024 are expected to proceed at NAIA unless advised otherwise.
Ryan Brito-Garcia, chief executive officer of Sunlight Air, said that the move was done with careful consideration of its passengers.
“Our passengers are our top priority and are at the center of our operations, this move was made with the consideration and evaluation of the feedback we receive; and the topline service we work to provide,” Brito-Garcia said.
“With this shift, Sunlight Air strives to provide even more passengers with our quality services, as well as a better airline experience overall in terms of heightened efficiency and reliability. We are confident in the added comfort that will come with serving our customers from CRK which was recently recognized and awarded for its top-notch facilities and world-class design,” he added.
Aside from the move to CRK, Sunlight Air said that the transition will come with additional nonstop routes to Boracay, daily flights to and from Cebu as well as the launch of its limited-edition Sunlight Air merchandise. These will also be launched in April.
The boutique airline, operating a fleet of ATR 72-500 aircraft, currently services flights between Manila and Coron, Siargao, Naga, and San Vicente.
Sunlight Air said it is hopeful that the move will further increase its flight frequency and routes as CRK has also recently been opening new local and international routes and is expecting to double passenger volume in the next year.
