MANILA, Philippines — International brand Mister Donut has launched new franchising packages that will help existing convenience stores and coffee shops boost their product offerings at minimal investments.

Mister Donut, which has been in the franchising business in the country for over 40 years now, recently rolled out the Convenience Store Package and Mini Package for Coffee Shops.

The exclusive offer for owners of grocery and convenience stores only entails an investment of P110,000, which already covers the MD Mini Showcase, single-face acrylic cut-out signage, crates storage cabinet, small wares, and the discounted franchise fee of P50,000.

Mister Donut senior franchising manager Cherryl Carino said this is perfect for air-conditioned convenience stores as they will also get to offer the well-loved donut products of a reputable brand to their customers and passers-by who are looking for a quick snack or to bring home to their loved ones.

The exclusive offer to owners of coffee shops and milk tea stores, meanwhile, includes the MD Mini Showcase, crates storage cabinet, small wares, and franchise fee for an upfront investment of only P90,000.  Coffee shop and milk tea store owners availing of this franchise package will be able to sell Mister Donut premium and specialty doughnuts, baked products, and Crunchies.

“We are giving our community grocery stores and coffee shops the opportunity to partner with us and transform their business for a minimal investment. Having an international brand in their stores will instantly boost their product offerings and allow them to attract more customers,” Carino said.  As a deal sweetener for those with multiple stores, Carino said Mister Donut only charges a franchise fee for the first branch, with the succeeding ones only requiring investments for the asset purchase.

Mister Donut originated from Boston, Massachusetts, and is now owned by Duskin Co. Ltd. of Japan. It was brought to the Philippines in 1982, with the first branch established on Recto Avenue in Manila.

Mister Donut’s Philippine operation is supported by 20 production plants/commissaries strategically located in Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao, ensuring the freshness of its products. It currently has more than 600 franchised stores and more than 3,000 institutional partners and key accounts. The first franchised outlet, established in Laguna 40 years ago, remains operational.

“We are inviting entrepreneurs in different parts of the country to our regular franchising roadshows so we can personally respond to their queries. Those who are ready to partner with us may send their accomplished letter of intent, Mister Donut application form, and site pictures through [email protected]. After submission, our franchise officers will get in touch with you  for the initial screening. They will also guide you on the next steps, including what you need to prepare for your final interview,” Carino said.
