Hong Kong stocks head into weekend with loss

HONG KONG, China — Hong Kong shares closed the week with another loss Friday as global markets took a hit from Federal Reserve chief Jerome Powell's warning that interest rates could be hiked again to fight inflation.

The Hang Seng Index dived 1.76 percent, or 308.03 points, to 17,203.26.

The Shanghai Composite Index slipped 0.47 percent, or 14.31 points, to 3,038.97, and the Shenzhen Composite Index on China's second exchange shed 0.42 percent, or 8.10 points, to 1,903.80.
