Converge apologizes for internet service interruption, assures 'issue resolved'
MANILA, Philippines — Internet service provider Converge issued a public apology on Saturday for a service interruption that upset many online users.
"Please be informed thar we have restored internet services for 98.6% of our customers affected by the service interruption at around 10:30 a.m. today, October 7," the company said through their Converge Support Facebook page.
"We sincerely apologize for the inconveniece this may have caused."
Converge earlier advised subscribers to reboot their modem or do simple troubleshooting should there be any connectivity issues.
The company also advised subscribers based in San Carlos City, Pangasinan, National Capital Region and South Luzon to personally message their Facebook Support Page if they are still facing connectivity issues.
American band faces anger of Filipino netizens
Frustrated Filipino internet users, due to the internet issues, once again mistakenly used the Facebook page of the American metalcore/mathcore band Converge to express their dissatisfaction.
This was not the first time that Filipinos online mistook the band's social media platform with the internet service provider, forcing them to issue a statement back in January 2021.
"Hey everyone... still just a hardcore band over here. Covid has not forced us to become an internet provider in the Philippines yet, but we hope everyone over there gets their internet access back," said the group.
