CGBP launches best practices program of corporate boards

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines — The Center for Global Best Practices (CGBP) is launching a SEC-accredited program, titled “Best Practices of Effective Boards,” on Aug. 16 from 1:30 to 4:45 p.m. via Zoom.

Startup founders and families in business are often at a loss as to how their corporate boards can truly add value to their businesses. In this three-hour executive briefing, attendees will learn about the seven fundamental roles of corporate boards, its different approaches and how to best support or facilitate them. This program is designed to bring value, increase capability of your start up or current board, to focus and to bring into a new perspective the internationally-benchmarked best practices on good governance.

Many boards tend to meet once or twice a year only for ensuring paper compliance to the Securities and Exchange Commission’s mandated requirements. Time has come to transform and activate your “paper board” into a highly functional and effective board that will bring value to your organization.

This training will feature CGBP course director Teodoro Kalaw IV.  He has been teaching corporate governance and intellectual property management since 2010. He is primarily responsible for creating and developing a Governance Framework for Family-Owned or Controlled Corporations and has taught both locally and internationally.  He is also a consultant to the World Bank’s International Finance Corp.

Registration is open to the general public. This program is highly recommended for founders, business owners and board directors who would like to have a dynamic and highly effective board.
