ERC: Luzon DUs face penalties for non-submission of reports
MANILA, Philippines — A number of distribution utilities in Luzon could be fined and penalized by the Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC) for their failure to submit their compliance monitoring reports for 2022.
According to the ERC, 18 Luzon distribution utilties have yet to submit their grid compliance monitoring reports (GCMR) for 2022.
In addition, 19 distribution utilties have so far not submitted their distributor’s compliance monitoring reports (DCMR) for the same year.
The ERC said the GCMR is a report on the status of compliance by distribution utilities with the Philippine Grid Code.
It promotes accountability of all grid users to achieve operational and economic efficiency, ensuring that all electricity prices are reasonable.
The DCMR, on the other hand, is a monitoring report that includes all current information on compliance by distribution utilities with the Philippine Distribution Code.
According to the ERC, the DCMR allows the commission to monitor a distribution utility’s compliance with standards that will guarantee adequacy, stability, security, and integrity of the power supply in distribution systems.
A distribution utility’s failure to submit these required reports shall be subject to the imposition of fines and penalties.
